Work has been busy. Life has been hectic. Thank god it's summer.
Today I'm heading down the shore to Kristina's graduation party, which should be a blast. It'll be nice to hang out with some old friends again. Plus if last year's shindig is any indication, it will be a story producing adventure.
Work's going well. I'm working on two reasonably large projects right now. One is a redesign of Immediate Annuities .com. The home page will be left alone. While it may look a little outdated, simply put, it works. So if it ain't broke, don't fix it. You can see the beginnings of the redesign on the library and rated age pages. In the end we hope to give the site more of a feeling of consistency.
The other project is Annuity Museum .com. This site is just up as kind of a place holder right now. Because this project will eventually be maintained by non-tech savy people, I've built a hacked up version of Movable Type that will be used as the site's CMS. I added a few extra fields to the interface that will help us more easily manage each museum entry's photographs. I have to say that I find Movable Type to be an absolute pleasure to work with. It's fast, ready to go out of the box, and can be modified by someone with a lil know-how 'til their heart's content.
That's all for now folks. I got places to go, people to see...you know how it is...
Song of the Day: Switch by Will Smith
Quote of the Day:
"Search for the seed of good in every adversity. Master that principle and you will own a precious shield that will guard you well through all the darkest valleys you must traverse. Stars may be seen from the bottom of a deep well, when they cannot be discerned from the mountaintop. So will you learn things in adversity that you would never have discovered without trouble. There is always a seed of good. Find it and prosper."
