Well the crazies are at it again. Trying to take away Christmas..What's next? Are they going to try to keep teachers from using the Declaration of Independance to teach children American History? Oh wait, they've already done that. What next? Perhaps some school official will try and rule that the Constitution is unconstitutional. These people have totally gotten out of control. Department store employees can't even wish you a Merry Christmas. That's only the tip of the iceberg.
An article on newsday states, "The South Orange/Maplewood Board of Education voted earlier this fall to ban music with "a religious orientation or focus on religious holidays," Brian F. O'Leary, the school board president, reiterated at a Monday night board meeting." So now there's no christmas songs. No "Rupolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". "The schools' brass ensemble was allowed to play songs such as "Silent Night" or "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," in past years; this year it can't."
At Lake Washington High School in Kirkland, Washington the principle decided to cancel the school play of "A Christmas Carol". Apparently some people are too offended by Tiny Tim's famous line, "God bless us, every one!". Geez, how offensive? Riiiiggggggghhhtttt.... Dickens, wasn't even a big fan of Christian institutions. "He's considered the father of the modern secular Christmas, in which many of us celebrate with friends and family instead of attending a church service. " (Seattle Times)
In Denver Carolers have been banned at a parade. I'm glad they defyed the band and sang anyway. What's the country coming to? We have these elitist douche bags on committee's making these decisions that an overwhelming majority of the people in the district disagree with. I hope all of these morons get fired and sued for large amounts of money. Way to go liberals! See if you can suck just a little joy out of the holiday season...
I think Maggie Gallagher said it best in her op/ed article on December 8th, "When did we begin to accept the idea that it's OK to be offended by other people's displays of religion? That people who are made uncomfortable by other people's religions have a right to have those religious ideas and symbols excluded from public celebrations? Who decided that in order to enjoy a communal celebration such as a Christmas parade, we first have to get Christmas out of it?" How does you being offended by my religion make you in anyway tolerant? I don't think anyone is saying that Jews, or Muslims can not celebrate their religions. I guess it's more those with no religion. They must feel left out, because of their views, what do they have to celebrate? I suppose misery loves company... Oh well, Merry Christmas!

"What is a committee? A group of the unwilling, picked from the unfit, to do the unnecessary."
- Mark Twain
Having my right hand in a cast sucks ass. On the bright side, it could be worse and it should be off in a couple of weeks. In other words, hopefully I'll have this shit off in time for New Year's Eve!
It turns out my earlier class today was cancelled, which sucks since I have another class right after it. Therefore I had to wait 3 hours for my next class to start which sucks. On the bright side, I hit up the library and started reading a new book. It's entitled, Illiberal Education, and was written by Dinesh D'Souza.
Work has been tedious to say the least. Working on a computer all day with one hand in a cast sucks. Working the mouse is a bitch, and after anything more than a half hour of continuous work I have to pause. I feel like a freakin' old man! On the bright side, we should be soon releasing my newest project. Stay tuned...
I feel like I've lost touch with some old friends, which sucks. However, on the bright side, I've caught with some old friends that i've been out of touch with for a little while, and for some reason I have a feeling I'll catch up with those other friends in due time.
With my broken hand, I can't lift any weights for at least 8 weeks, which sucks. On the bright side, since I was bored, I obtained the new album from The Killers. I've had a few songs stuck in my head all day. Obviously one song in particular, Mr. Brightside, inspired this entry.
'Til next time... Be good, and if ya can't be good, be careful!

Quote of the Day:
"I will smile at friend and foe alike and make every effort to find, in him or her, a quality to praise, now that I realize the deepest yearning of human nature is the craving to be appreciated."
